Not all of us ‘knew’ from a young age, not all of us had ‘signs,’ not all of us were trans our whole lives.
Not all of us resent our cisgender childhoods;
some of us still look upon those years with fondness,
our younger selves embracing their assigned gender wholeheartedly,
free from the overwhelming and tedious bureaucracy that accompanies legally affirming one’s transness.
